Who we are

Scott Jones

MS, OTR/L, SCEM, ATP, UDCP, CAPS, CEAC, SRES, CBR

Scott is a licensed occupational therapist with more than 10 years experience. After earning a master’s degree from Ithaca College, Scott relocated to Baltimore to begin his journey of refining and developing his skills as a home modification specialist. Scott completed his final clinical affiliation in a specialty field for home modifications at the Southeast Senior Housing Initiative, a Johns Hopkins University sponsored program. Scott traveled to the homes of low-income seniors, evaluating and implementing simple adaptations.

His quest for knowledge remains quite evident. Since 2006, he’s acquired specialty certifications from the National Association of Home Builders (CAPS), National Association of Realtors (SRES), Accessible Home Improvement of America (CEAC), University of Southern California (Executive Certificate in Home Modifications), Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (ATP), National Association of Realtor endorsed Certified Buyers Representative (CBR), National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Universal Design Certified Professional (UDCP), and Minnesota State Building Official Accessibility Specialist. In January of 2015 Scott was recognized by The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) through his achievement in obtaining the Specialty Certification in Environmental Modifications (SCEM). This distinction has been accomplished by less than 1% of all occupational therapists nationally.

Scott’s an avid contractor. That’s why it’s not unusual to find him operating heavy equipment, carefully crafting custom cabinets, or building barrier free bathrooms.

What we do

Design for All

We design and build with one thing in mind - accessibility. It is our passion. But we go beyond designing for your needs right now - every design we undertake is crafted to not only fulfill your requirements in your current capabilities, but to be adaptable to your future needs. As your abilities change, so too can our solutions, reducing the need for future renovations and minimizing the disruption when changes are needed.

Scott's background in Occuptional Therapy enables him to understand accessibility in a way most contractors cannot - he knows how the body works, the best methods for recovery, and how to design a space for adjustment to new levels of ability. Combine this with a meticulous dedication to Universal Design, and a reputation for creative solutions, and the result is Jones Accessible Homes, LLC!
